Hey there! I'm Abe Hanoka, and I created MergeCal because I was sick of juggling multiple calendars. If you're anything like me, you've got work stuff, personal appointments, and maybe even shared calendars with family or teammates. It's a mess, right? Well, here's how I solved it, and how you can too.
Why MergeCal?
I built MergeCal for one simple reason: to see all my events in one place without the headache. No more switching between apps or missing important dates. Just one calendar to rule them all.
How to Merge Your Calendars with MergeCal:
- Create an Account: Head to mergecal.org and sign up for an account. It's free to get started.
- Create a Calendar: Click "Create Calendar" and give it a name. Something like "My Life" or "Team Schedule" - whatever makes sense to you.
- Add Your Sources: This is where the magic happens. For each calendar you want to merge:
- Click "Add Source"
- Name it (e.g., "Work", "Personal", "Side Hustle")
- Paste in the iCal URL (you can usually find this in your calendar app's settings)
- Generate Your New Calendar: Once you've added all your sources, MergeCal will create a new iCal URL for your merged calendar.
- Subscribe in Your Favorite App: Use that new URL to subscribe in whatever calendar app you prefer. Google Calendar, Apple Calendar, Outlook - they all work.
That's it. Seriously.
Why It's Awesome:
- Everything in One Place: No more app-switching madness.
- Easy Updates: Add or remove sources anytime. Your life changes, and your calendar can too.
- Works Everywhere: If your app can subscribe to iCal, it'll work with MergeCal.
A Few Extra Bits:
- You can choose to show or hide the source names in your events.
- MergeCal updates your merged calendar regularly, so you always have the latest events.
If you're tired of calendar chaos, give MergeCal a try. It might just make your life a bit easier.
Questions? Hit me up. I'm always happy to chat about calendars (yes, I'm that guy now).
